I came across a great offer and took advantage of it muahaha. So my new tablet is Genius mousepen i608 and i have to say that i am really satisfied with it. My latest works were done with that tablet and it's really easier to draw with it.

And now for the "To hell and back" story with the drivers <.<

So i plug in my tablet, and as a proud user of windows 7 i wait for the drivers to install automatically. Tablet detected, everything looks okay, but the pressure ain't working.

Okay, so i go to the genius site, download the drivers (bundle drivers yuck! - from 2k to 7) and install them. Try out the pressure, still nothing.

Google time!

As google and forums reveal, the drivers for win7 don't really work as they should. So i mail to customer support, describe the problem, and the replies i get sound like bots and not real people, so i almost write to them to go to hell <.<

Okay, the xp ones work, people told me. Okay, i will make a dual boot then.
And google again! After reading that there could be problems with trying to install dual boot 7 and winxp, i take all the precautions from the site(s) and start with the install of xp.

And of course, my pc restarts, and the installation should continue after that.

BUT NO.

I end up looking at a black screen, my pc frozen in the middle of the BIOS.

*headdesk*

What the hell, i have everything backed up. Restart (yeah, i know that's not really a good idea when you end up stuck in the middle of the BIOS, but i was really annoyed with my PC at that time and i wanted to destroy it). Same thing. Okay, at least it wanted to start. That's kinda a relief. But i can't access the boot menu, i can't go to the BIOS settings, nothing. It's stuck, it's frozen, and it's mocking me.

So after 2 hours of google and calling few friends (the hardware masterminds), learning how to take out the battery out of BIOS, and before flashing the BIOS i came up with an idea. If it fails to start at the HDD loading, let's take the HDD out!

And oh my! It's the HDD. The only one i have. And i can't plug it into the other pc, because the other pc is a laptop.

So let's brainstorm a lil bit more.
Plug the HDD back in, but give it only power.
Start the PC.
After the BIOS gets over the HDD loading, plug the remaining cables to the HDD.
RUN my oh so lovely HIREN's BOOT.

Find the correct program.

Wipe the HDD clean. Every 1 is now an 0.

Start the PC normally.
THe HDD works!!

Intall WinXP only.

And NEVER EVER EVER TRY TO INSTALL DUAL BOOT OF XP AND 7 AGAIN  >.<

Oh yeah, the tablet works like a charm on xp :D

Try doing XP, Win7, Ubuntu & MaxOS all on one.
Now that's a challenge.
